Three men and a woman pick gherkins manually in a field and put them in baskets 29". carrying the baskets with a wheelbarrow and by hand to the farm 10". Gherkins are put in barrel with water and are stirred clean; three women kneeled on the ground sort the gherkins in baskets 28". Horse-and-cart with baskets rides into the auction hall, men with caps in front of the door; unloading the horse-and-carts with bags and baskets 16".
