Op een scheepswerf in Amsterdam wordt een Zweedse tanker omgebouwd tot traankokerij met als naam "Willem Barendsz". Omdat het oorspronkelijke brugdekhuis niet meer nodig is, wordt dit door lassers losgebrand en door twee drijvende hijskranen opgetakeld en weggevaren.
