The ambassador of Canada, Pierre Dupuy, unveils a monument on the market square in Almelo, which commemorates the liberation of the city by the Canadians in 1945. SHOTS: - A monument stands in the middle of the square, the plinth covered by a cloth; - soldiers are lined up; - the ambassador moves forward, followed by other notables, and pulls the cloth from the plinth and the text on the plinth becomes visible; - close up of the monument; - the notables hold a moment of silence; - scouts hoist the flag; - soldiers march past the statue (not really visible); 00:36 designer of the statue, mister Baljet.
