Reel 1
Film by Herman van der Horst about the reconstruction of the city centre of Rotterdam after World War II.
First reel of 'Keep it that way'. In this part footage of the Saint Laurens church, which is still in ruins as a symbol of the destruction, while other heaps of rubble have been cleared and at the Coolsingel the reconstruction has started, a.o. of the Bijenkorf (a department store). Also footage of the traffic getting busy again at the Willemsbrug (traffic policeman) and the activities of the freighters and tug boats in the harbours. Small things in the city are also shown, like a pigeon fancier.
