Documentary about Zeist.
Documentary about Zeist. This film by Willy Mullens shows the sights of Zeist. Filmed from a tram, we see the Utrechtseweg, with imposing villas on both sides of the street, including the country house ‘Ma retraite'. The film also contains footage of the ‘villa quarter’, the town hall, the Hotel Figi on Het Rond, and the Donkerelaan, as well as Slot Zeist, surrounded by woods and water. Willy Mullens made his first Mooi Nederland (Beautiful Netherlands) film – about The Hague and Scheveningen – in 1915, which was commissioned by the Tourism Office. This documentary on Zeist is probably one of the later films in the series.
