Documentary about Stavoren.
Documentary about Stavoren. The opening scenes of this documentary were shot from a boat in the Zuiderzee approaching the port of Staveren. This once-famous Hanseatic city is now known as the pleasure boater’s gateway to the Frisian lakes. The film focuses mainly on Stavoren’s relationship to the Zuiderzee: the sluice, the harbour, and the promenade. We see images of children playing with homemade toys boats, and the departure train ferry to Enkhuizen, as well as its arrival. On this special boat, the wagons were transported in train formation.
